In July of 2019, Fidevia was retained by the Lancaster Country Club to serve as its Owner’s Representative during the $20 Million A Defining Moment Project, which included a brand-new Paddle Hut, Pro Shop, Golf Plaza, Activities Pavilion, Pool, Pool “Snack Shack”, new entrance and turning lane from Route 23, and renovations to the existing Clubhouse. The Design Phase was well underway with the team comprised of RLPS Architects, Moore Engineering, RGS Associates, C.S. Davidson, Inc., SCOPOS Hospitality Group & Wallover Architects, Inc. when the pandemic hit. Despite the many trials and challenges COVID-19 brought during the design phase, the project, which contains over 1,000 pages of drawings, pushed forward and Wohlsen Construction Company was awarded the project’s General Construction Contract, with construction commencing in late August 2020.
The COVID trials and challenges continued, however the actual construction of the almost $16,000,000 worth of buildings and improvements was completed in eleven months, including the removal of approximately 8,500 cubic yards of rock. In addition, the new 350,000-gallon concrete pool with 8,000 square feet of pool surface was constructed during the winter months. Making up the largest portion of the project, the new Activities Pavilion and Pool/Pool Snack Shack were completed and opened for Member use on July 9, 2021, despite what seemed to be, at times, insurmountable issues. Since the Grand Opening of the new amenities, club membership has been increasing steadily and the pool has had record attendance!
This project certainly lived up to its name, A Defining Moment, for Fidevia, as well as LCC.
